It’s not safe for anyone. I suggest taking the baby out of the house for at least 6 hours… that way the fumes have time to clear. If it’s just being done outside then an hour should do fine.
Can you have a grandparent or someone keep her for the day? You really need to get back to your house and open some windows and let it air out before you bring her back into the house.
Are they coming inside or just around the foundation? Depending on the type of fumigation and the chemical they are using, it could be a number of different answers.
All chemicals have a reentry time. This is the number of hours after the application when it is safe for people to be in contact where the spray was applied. The company that is spraying your house should provide you with the reentry information — no matter if it is an indoor or outdoor job.
With a baby, I would be careful no matter what. If it is inside, make sure to wash any bedding, toys, and other items that the baby would come in contact with just to be on the safe side.
